How Plumbing Financing Works at Tioga (Step by Step)

The short answer: you get a flat-rate written quote first, then apply through one of Tioga’s lending partners — Service Finance Company or Synchrony. The Service Finance application takes about a minute and starts with a soft credit pull, so checking your options doesn’t affect your credit score. Most decisions come back quickly, and once you’re approved we schedule the work like any other job. Tioga isn’t the lender and doesn’t set your rate or terms; the lender does, and you see them before you accept anything.

Step 1 — Get the flat-rate quote first

Financing decisions should follow a real number, not an estimate. A licensed Tioga plumber diagnoses the problem (the $89 service call is waived when you book the recommended repair) and gives you a written flat-rate price. You approve that price before a wrench turns — that’s the whole basis of our upfront pricing model.

Step 2 — Decide whether financing is the right tool

It usually is when the repair can’t wait and the amount is large: a water heater replacement ($1,850–$2,800 for a tank, $3,850–$6,200 tankless), a slab leak repair ($2,200–$4,800), or a whole-home repipe ($6,500–$11,500). For a $250 drain auger, financing is rarely worth the paperwork.

Step 3 — Apply (about a minute, soft credit pull)

You can apply from your phone while the technician is still there. The Service Finance Company application is short, and the initial step is a soft credit pull — it shows you what you qualify for without a hard inquiry on your report. Synchrony is our second partner; which one fits depends on the job and what you’re approved for.

Step 4 — Review the terms before you accept

The lender presents your amount, term, and rate. Read them. Tioga has no role in setting those numbers and we won’t quote you a rate — anyone in the trades who promises a specific rate before you’ve applied is guessing. Ask the lender directly about the term length, the total cost over the term, and any promotional period conditions.

Step 5 — We schedule the work

Once financing is approved and you’ve accepted the terms, the job goes on the schedule like any other. You’re not paying us differently — the lender pays for the work and you repay the lender.

Step 6 — Your job is still permitted and guaranteed

Financed work is regular work. Tioga pulls the permit in your city, schedules the inspection, and hands you the closed-out permit with the final invoice. Every job carries the $25,000 Good Contractors List guarantee and is performed under a Texas Master Plumber license (M-13661).

What else can bring the number down?

  • Free second opinion — if someone else quoted you $3,000+, we’ll look at the job free of charge before you finance anything.
  • Current promotions — whatever is running now.
  • Military and veterans discounts — $25 off, and a 10% labor discount for homeowners 65+.
  • Gator Family Membership — $149/year, includes 20% off repairs, which changes the financed total.
  • Rebates — federal and utility programs that may apply to equipment upgrades.

Frequently asked questions

Does applying hurt my credit score?

The Service Finance application begins with a soft credit pull, which does not affect your score. Proceeding to a full application may involve a hard inquiry — the lender will tell you when that happens.

What interest rate will I get?

That’s set by the lender based on your application, and Tioga doesn’t quote rates. You’ll see your exact terms from Service Finance Company or Synchrony before accepting anything.

Can I finance an emergency repair in the middle of the night?

You can apply any time, but for a true emergency we prioritize stopping the water first. Our 24/7 emergency service doesn’t wait on a financing decision.

What if I’m not approved?

Ask about a smaller scope. A partial repair or a phased approach is often possible — for instance repairing one line now rather than repiping the house — and we’ll price the options honestly.

Do you offer in-house payment plans?

No. Financing runs through our lending partners, Service Finance Company and Synchrony, who handle the credit decision and the terms.

Is financed work still guaranteed?

Yes — identical guarantee, identical permitting, identical warranty. How the job is paid for changes nothing about how it’s done.

Ready to move?

Get the diagnosis and the flat-rate number first, then decide how to pay for it. You can book online any time, or call 817-484-5356 and talk to a person.
