We don’t pay to be on lists. The recognition below comes from third parties — BBB, neighborhood platforms, and customers — rating real work over real years.

2026
Awarded by Angi / HomeAdvisor
HomeAdvisor's plumbing recognition is a ratings-and-reviews award: it draws on verified customer feedback from jobs booked through the platform, so it moves when our work does. It is not a directory listing you can buy your way into by upgrading an advertising package.
2025
Awarded by Nextdoor Neighborhood Favorite
Nextdoor's Neighborhood Favorite is the one we're quietly proudest of, because we have no hand in it at all. Neighbors nominate and vote inside their own private neighborhood feeds. There is no submission, no application, and no way for a contractor to campaign for it — you either come up in the group chat or you don't.
2024
Awarded by Better Business Bureau
The BBB Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics is judged, not voted. Applicants submit evidence of how they actually operate — leadership practices, how disputes get handled, how employees are treated — and an independent panel reads it. Reaching finalist means outside judges looked at our internal conduct, not our advertising.
2015
Awarded by Better Business Bureau
Accreditation is the year the Better Business Bureau began keeping a formal file on us, and A+ is the rating that file has held since. Unlike a one-year award, this one is continuous: it can be downgraded at any time by complaints we fail to resolve. Holding it for a decade is a record, not a moment.
1953
Awarded by Tioga / Carter Plumbing
Not an award — the starting line. Charles Carter opened the shop in Fort Worth in 1953, and every honor above sits on top of four generations of Carter plumbers working the same metroplex. Longevity is the only credential in this trade that genuinely cannot be purchased.
A home-services award is only worth what the thing behind it measures. There are really three kinds. Voted awards come from customers or neighbors and measure whether people actually liked the work. Judged awards come from a panel that reads evidence about how a company operates. And purchased awards come from whoever sold the plaque — those are the ones with a submission fee, a licensing fee for the logo, and a suspiciously long winners list.
Here is the test we’d apply to any contractor, us included: can you find the award on the issuer’s website, not just the contractor’s? Does the issuer say how winners are chosen? Can the honor be taken away? An award nobody can revoke isn’t measuring anything current.
We’d rather point at the gaps than pretend the trophies close them.
An award names a year. It cannot tell you whether the crew that earned it is still on the truck. That is why our review record matters more than the plaques — it updates every week, and the bad weeks show.
No recognition guarantees the plumber standing in your kitchen. Licensing, background checks, and a written warranty do, and those are per-job, not per-year.
A decorated contractor can still surprise you on the invoice. The protection against that is a flat-rate written quote before the wrench turns, not a trophy.
Across seven decades and thousands of DFW homes, Tioga Plumbing and the Carter Family have had jobs go wrong. What we can point at is a public complaint record and a guarantee that pays out — which is exactly why we link straight to the sources instead of summarizing them.
Everything that matters. We’d rather hand you four things you can check in five minutes than a wall of badges you can’t. Each one below links straight to the source.

What can’t be printed is a BBB record built since 2015, a vetted membership in The Good Contractors List, 700+ customer reviews averaging 4.7 stars, and a family name that’s been on DFW plumbing trucks since 1953 — four generations of Carter plumbers and counting.
